I managed to source a Capri Fuel Tank Sender off eBay. It did require some modification, but is now working correctly. I’ve tee’d off the fuel feed pipe to each side of the tank floor. All I needed to do then was get hold of a couple of strainers (eBay again). With the Fuel Tank now in (hopefully for the last time) in went 15 litres of fuel (half a tank). Guess what? – The gauge reads half – Yippee! Next up was to final-fit the wings with the piping in place. This went quite well. Also, the Stone Guards have been fitted. Finally (for now at least) I wasn’t happy with the large gap at the rear of the side panel so I’ve covered these all in. I went to the Newark show in early June and met up with another large number of Hoodies. They’re a great bunch and as usual, very helpful. I’m pretty sure that I’ve yet to ask them a question they can’t answer, which is very assuring during a project like this. Here’s some photo’s from the day: Pics 1a, 1b, 1c & 1d. From one end of the car to the other. The next job to tackle was the Cooling Fan. The supplied radiator, due to it’s size, inclines at about 55 degrees and it’s not possible to affix the fan to the radiator due to cross member interference. To resolve this, the solution is to fabricate a shroud to direct the air from the fan. This was easily accomplished and the fan wired up via a relay. This shows the wiring connected to the in-line top hose sensor. The horn is also now installed and wired up (again with a relay). Here's the Horn Wiring Diagram Whilst doing these two jobs, I realised that I need an area to place all of the fuse and relay holders. I’ve made a sort of shelf alongside the battery. This is not finalised yet but here’s a photo anyway. Now that all the clocks are working, I’ve finished off the facia for them. There’s no actual dash yet but here’s a photo of where and how they are now. I’m pretty pleased with them. So, not too many words for these past two months. I guess because unlike some previous months, I haven’t had too much in the way of problems. I take this as a good sign. Work continues and is still going in the right direction. I’m getting some stick from certain Hoodies for not being fast enough. I’m confident of probably winning the ‘Slowest Builder’ title but I don’t care. It’s looking good and I’m very happy with what I’ve done so far.
