September. The last Show of the Year - My doesn't time fly!
A small show this one at Stafford, but it was good to meet up with friends old & new.
Had a nice run up to Darlington and met up with a few of the North East Hoodys. From there we went over to Redcar.
I've obtained a set of Top Wishbones as I was starting to consider an exercise in getting the Castor sorted.
Not, at this point in time, did I know if the castor was incorrect. I did notice though at high speed (Nurburgring) that the steering goes extremely light.
I need to get this checked out over the winter before, I decide whether to fit them or not.
November. I was after another Gearbox, as the one I have has always grumbled a bit on the over-run.
Nothing major, but something I'd been thinking about for a while. A fellow Hoody mentioned that he had an engine up for grabs.
When he also said there was a Gearbox too, I jumped at the chance.
Now there's nothing wrong with my engine, but being as I obtained this car in kit form - third hand, I simply do not know how many miles the engine has done in total.
So, with a second-hand Engine Stand and a borrowed Engine Crane (Thanks Guys!), I now have an engine (recently re-conditioned) and a good Gearbox in my garage, ready for some closer inspection.
There's absolutely no rush here, but it's nice to have and something to tinker with in the coming months.
So that's about it really for 2010. The end of November came and so I posted off the Tax Disc back to DVLA and the car is now on SORN.
There's 25,749 miles on the clock and we're still going strong! It's getting very cold and there's snow on the way. Time for some hibernation!
Have a great Christmas and a Happy 2011!!
