Boot Cover Exhaust Heatshield As I suspected, I was unsure as to the suitability of this for SVA, so I swapped it out for a piece of plain aluminium sheet. Firewall This is also just about finished and I'm very happy with how this has turned out. The Final Countdown Well I can't really believe it but the car's nearly finished and ready for SVA! I sent off the paperwork for this (choosing Beverley, as it's the nearest SVA Station) and also the relevant forms to the DVLA (Leeds Local Office) in order to get the car registered. There was however still a whole host of items still to do or finish off. Here's the list:
Whilst working through the above list, I received a letter from VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency). I have a date for SVA - 4th May. I also received (cutting a long story short) notification from Leeds DVLA, of a 'Build Up Inspection' date for 21st May. I booked the car in for an 'MOT Style' Safety Check towards the end of April at my local garage. Whilst this wasn't a mandatory requirement, I wanted this carried out on the car so that I'd be more comfortable knowing it would be safe to drive the 53 miles to Beverley & back. The garage pointed a few minor things I'd overlooked, so it was a very worthwhile exercise! In addition, one of the Keighley Hoodies also offered to come and give the car the once-over. He also pointed out some SVA related items that I should attend to - Thanks Peter! I now have a deadline to work to. Of course, it would be fantastic to pass SVA first time but I'm under no illusions that the SVA is (and rightly so) a very strict and thorough examination. Fingers crossed. Again, I've been very happy with my progress over the past couple of months (all things considered). Time's rolling on apace though. Sorry, no more words for now - I'm off to the garage!
